Fun and Financial…Dates to Remember!

Thought I'd remind people about some important deadlines during the early part of the year and throw in a few fun events too! Let me know if I missed a really entertaining event that is happening during the first quarter of the year.


January
1st – Free admission to the Wildflower Center all month long.

3rd – Bob Schneider & Lonelyland Every Monday at Saxon Pub, 8:30PM

31st – Last day to pay your property taxes without penalty.

February
5rd – Chinese New Year Celebration – Year of the Rabbit, Leap into Prosperity at the 15th Annual Lunar New Year Gala, Bob Bullock Museum

5th – Carnaval Brasileiro, Palmer Events Center

6th – 2011 Chinese New Year’s Celebration at Austin’s Chinatown Center, 11AM.

17th – Martin Luther King, Jr. March and Festival

20th - Livestrong Austin Marathon and Half Marathon

March
6th – 83rd Annual Zilker Park Kite Festival

11th-20th - SXSW – Interactive, Film and Music.

26th - Annual March Birthday Babies Celebration, East Austin

27th – Capitol 10K

April
15th – IRS Taxes are due.
If you can’t find your HUD-1 Settlement Statement for tax purposes, give me a call and I’ll send you a copy.

30th – Last day to send in your completed Homestead Exemption form.

May
30th – Your county appraisal district sends out updated assessed values. This is your opportunity to indicate that you are going to protest the value. This should be returned to the county assessor’s office within thirty days of receipt. If you have questions about this process, I would be happy to assist you. I love protesting my property values at the county!
