Day 5 - When a tree falls…

Friday’s snow day involved a meeting with the insurance adjuster and a trip to the bank. I love the way Farmer’s writes you a check on the spot. Our neighbor’s AAA insurance already sent out a company to cut most of the tree. They left the root ball and about six feet of the trunk for us to remove. Once that is removed on Monday, we’ll repair the fence. Our neighbor’s insurance coverage does not include fences. Fortunately ours did.

My tenant has been out of her place since Wednesday because the pipes to her garage apartment froze along with the water supply line breaking. We have “loss of rent” coverage included in our policy. I highly recommend that for people who own rental properties. On Monday, I’m going to double check that it is included on all of my policies!
